FAQ

Questions prospective operators ask.

Do I need a fire service background?
No. RedLine was founded by a career firefighter and several of our operators came from the fire service, but the training covers cleaning, inspection, reporting and selling from the ground up. What we look for is someone business-oriented who shares the mission and will be in the station with the chief.
What does a RedLine franchise cost?
The investment, the ongoing fees and everything they cover are laid out item by item in our Franchise Disclosure Document, which you receive after an initial conversation with the franchise team. We walk through it with you before you decide anything.
How is a territory defined?
Your territory is set in your franchise agreement around the fire departments you'll serve. We size territories so one Mobile Extraction Unit has enough departments to keep it busy, not by land area.
Who are the customers?
Municipal, career, volunteer and combination fire departments, fire academies, and federal and military agencies. NFPA 1850 calls for advanced cleaning of turnout gear at least every six months and after every exposure, so every department in your territory is a recurring customer.
What is the Mobile Extraction Unit?
A purpose-built truck carrying commercial extractors, drying cabinets, ultrasonic cleaning tanks and inspection stations. It cleans and inspects 30+ sets of turnout gear in a day at the station, so gear never leaves the department. See the Mobile Extraction Unit page for the full walkthrough.
Can I offer repairs?
Yes. The Mobile Repair Unit is a fully equipped repair shop on wheels, and as a Verified ISP RedLine repairs any brand of turnout gear. Repairs are performed on site during the same visit.
How long until I am operating?
It depends on the build of your Mobile Extraction Unit and on your market. Once we know your territory we lay out the timeline with you, from signing through training, truck delivery and market launch.
Do I get help selling?
Yes. The marketing team helps launch your market and runs advertising and outreach to the departments around you, and corporate maintains national contracts and partnerships that your territory benefits from.
